Cuba defeat Poland to remain unbeaten

Cuba held off Poland in Havana to claim their fifth win of the 2010 FIVB World League
Havana, Cuba, June 18, 2010.- Cuba defeated Poland 3-2 (19-25, 25-16, 17-25, 25-23, 15-10) on Friday as the third weekend of the 2010 FIVB World League continues.

It is Cuba's fifth consecutive victory in the tournament and they currently sit on top of Pool D.

Cuba started with an advantage, but Poland quickly imposed their game and stood in a comfortable lead to win the first set. Cuba committed numerous errors, especially in reception that Poland was able to exploit to their full advantage.

Cuba reacted in the second and Poland's repeated errors allowed the easy victory for the host side.

However Poland dominated the third set easily with Cuba making 12 errors to gift the visitors the set-win.

The side then went ahead in the fourth set before Cuba rallied from seven points back and took the victory in front of thousands of fans.

Poland could not recover from the previous set and Cuba got the victory to remain unbeaten in the 2010 FIVB World League.
 
The two sides meet again on Sunday at 00.40am GMT.
