Serbia claim second victory over France

Serbia thank their travelling fans following their victory over France in Grenoble on Saturday
Grenoble, France, June 12, 2010 – Serbia ended their second FIVB World League weekend with two victories over France following a straight-set (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) win over the home side in Grenoble on Saturday in front of 4,000 spectators in their Pool B clash.

France took the lead early on in the first set and rallied to an 18-16 lead. However Serbia scored four unanswered points before securing the first set 25-20.

France coach Philippe Blain made a few changes in the second however Serbia continued to pile on the pressure and made few mistakes to take a two set advantage.

The home side began the third set well jumping to a four-point lead but was not able to stay ahead as Serbia raced back to regain control. France’s reception suffered badly as the set went on before Serbia claimed the set 25-21 and with that the match.

Serbia now travel to Italy as France take on China at home as the FIVB World League continues.
