The first set was balanced up until 12-7 when the European youth champions steamed ahead to take the lead.

Egypt's Yasmin Hussein went down injured in the second, damaging her side's chances as the African champions couldn't hold off Poland's powerful attacks.

Egypt lost concentration in the third and eventually went down as the European side picked up the win.

Belgium captain Ilka Van De Vyver was crucial for her side as was Egypt's Salma El Mohands who scored a lot of points during the match.

"I told them that we need to play with confidence and be patient because when we hurry, we make mistakes," Belgium coach Julien Van De Vyver said.

"We are going to practice and work on receiving the ball before the next match," Egypt coach Salma Elmohands said.
