Coach profile

Marek Hencek was born on Feb. 7, 1975 in Levice, Slovakia. He is married with a 1-year-old daughter.

Hencek coached in Levice until 2004, afterwhich he began coaching at the Slovak Volleyball Federation sport center in Nitra. He returned to Levice the following year, before taking up his former position in Nitra at the start of the 2005 season.

From 2002-2004, Henec doubled as assistant coach of the Slovak Youth and Junior Girls National Teams. He was also the assistant coach of the Junior Women's Team at the 2004 European Championships, where the team finished 10th.

Hencek took the helm of the Youth Girls National Team in 2007, guiding them to second place at the Youth Girl Qualification Tournament in Turkey and fourth place at the Youth Girls European Championships in Netherlands this year.
