The history of the Italian Girl's National Youth Team "Cadette" is rather short, but prestigious. The first official event they participated in was the 1995 European Championship in Barcelona, where they took home the gold medal.

In the same year the team claimed bronze at the World Championships in France after losing to Japan in the semifinal.

In 1997, the team finished 5th at the Continental Championships in Puchov, Slovakia, and won bronze at the World Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

In 2001, Cadette won the gold medal at the European Championships in Liberec, Czech Republic.

Two years later the team claimed silver at the European Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, and also finished second at the World Championships in Pila, Poland. They lost only one match in each tournament.

In 2005 the team captured bronze medals at the European Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, and at the World Championships in Macau.
