Egypt and Tunisia secure
World Championship vacancies on final day
Cairo,
Egypt, January 23, 2005 – Both Egypt and Tunisia secured the
African vacancies at the 2005 Girls U-18 World Championship,
which will be held in Macau from July 25-30 after they
finished the 7th Girls U-18 African Nations’ Championship in
Cairo, Egypt ranked first and second respectively.
The third and final day of the competition saw Egypt sweep
Algeria in straight sets (25-16, 25-13, 25-4) in less than
an hour.
This win put Egypt on top of the three nations competition
with four points followed by Tunisia, who had a rest day on
the final day, in second with three points. Algeria finished
the competition third with two points after losing both
their matches.
