Serbia & Montenegro beat Kenya 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-7) - duration 0:58
09-Aug, start time: 10:02, end time: 11:00 - Attendance: 300
Captain of the Yugoslavian team: Kenya is a strong opponent, so at the start we were a bit afraid. Nevertheless our strength prevailed. At the beginning we did not play as well as we expected but during the course of the game we managed to regain our strength and at the end we played much better.

Head coach of the Yugoslavian team: We came three days ago and the time between the games and our arrival made us nervous and anxious to start the games. I am not happy with the way our team played, which might have stemmed from the fact that they were not properly prepared mentally for the match. I hope they will play better in the following games.

Captain of the Kenyan team: It was a very difficult game for us because we could not play as well as we wanted and were able to. We were very tired because of the extremely long trip. In these circumstances our attempts to play better were unsuccessful, especially that Yugoslavia is a very good team

Head coach of the Kenyan team: At the beginning I would like to apologize to you for the way our team played in today's match. Believe me, this team can play volleyball. The problem was that the trip took us three days so we spent sixty hours with no sleep whatsoever. We were buying the missing parts of our equipment in the duty-free shop in Amsterdam on the way here so you can imagine how hard it was for us to be well prepared both mentally and physically for this game.
