Hungary's U18 Girls' World
Championship team has been playing together since 2002 when they
competed in a 2002 Olympic Hopes Tournament in Nitra, Slovakia.
A fifth place finish there gave them the impetus to build a
solid unit with plenty of charisma that can strike fear into
opposing teams.
In January 2003 Hungary won the Youth European Championship
qualification tournament in Cordoba, Spain ahead of Spain,
France and Austria. In
the 2003 Girls' Youth European Championship Hungary finished
seventh, making a good platform for themselves heading into the
World Championship in Poland.
