The China Youth Girls' team is composed of players from seven provinces iN China. The average age is 16 and average height is 183cm.

Most of the players in the team participated in the Asian Youth Girls' Volleyball Championship in Thailand, which China won.

Ma Xiaoying, No 4, is a very gifted player with distinguished characteristics of overall technical ability. She was awarded the title of Best Server at the Asian Championshiop.

Xiaoying will be one of many in the Chinese team who will be dominant come serve time or when operating at the net. With their great height, China will be tough to beat and they head into the tournament as one of the favourites.

New captain Yang Yanan has a lot to do to channel her monster team to the same level of success they achieved at the Asian Championship - 1st place.
