Two fantastic venues 250kms apart
will play hosts to the women volleyball stars of tomorrow when
Poland hosts the Girls' U18 World Championship in August.
Wloclawek, a bustling city in central Poland about 140 km
northwest of Warsaw, will play host with a state of the art
stadium and a passionate fan base of over 100,000 locals to boot.
Boasting the country's largest hydroelectric power station and
reservoir on the Wisla, Wloclawek is the chief city and industrial
centre of the fertile Kujawy region. But it is also steeped in
history with a Gothic cathedral, the Saint John's Church, and a
Baroque reformative church, all dating from between the 14th and
17th centuries.
Pila, meanwhile, situated 250km northwest of Wloclawek, is equally
inspiring with a magnificent modern stadium in wonderful
surroundings, fully supported by volleyball aficionados across
Poland.
Players from right around the world will have the best possible
stage to display their wonderful skills and enthusiasm for this
magnificent sport in one of the most accommodating venues around
the world.
