Chelikhova Nadejda, 57, like
most of the rest of Russia's coaching contingent has a vast
experience in Volleyball. Following an education where he
graduated with a master of sports, Nadejda played for the CSKA
Volleyball club, collecting the national title many times and
two gold medals at the European Champion's Cup.
At the tender age of 19 he first tried his hand at coaching at
the CSKA Children's Sports School. It wasn't long before he was
granted a title of the Honored Coach of Russia.
For eight years he was the second coach of the CSKA women's team
and the second coach of the CSKA team for preparing reserves. He
also worked as an assistant coach to V. Yuriev and V. Bardok of
the national Girls Under 20 team.
Since December 2002 Nadejda has been working with the Girls U18
team with his assistant coach V. Kirianov.
The team looks to be in impressive form having won their
qualification tournament before finishing fourth at 2003
European Championship in Croatia. |
