A win is good for the moral

Tomasz Kowalski, Captain of Poland: “Everybody could see that we had a problem: we weren't able to keep focussed on the goal of winning this match."

Grzegorz Rys, Coach of Poland: “I think today the people here have just seen what is a good match. I think both teams played at a very high level. It was good fighting and we maintained tradition, too: every time we play against France we have five sets. Tomorrow we are playing against Japan and I must confess it is very difficult for us now."

Olivier Ragondet, Captain of France: “We lost the first two sets and then won 3-2. I would say that we have got up late. This match is very important for us now because it fosters our moral and it is of course very positive for the rank, too!"

Yves Logeais, Coach of France: “What I have to say after this match is that in life you always have to decide. We as a team have a problem at mental level. I know it sounds crazy and somewhat incredible but it is right. They simply decided to play and they won. We know the Polish team very well, they are always very strong but today we won because we took the decision to win. We really wanted it and we got it. I like my players today because we were able to react in the third set."
