Still some things to sort out for Russia

T.D. Ravikumar, Captain of India: “Russia played really well. I think my team also played well but they were definitely stronger”.

Ivan Nikishin, Captain of Russia: “We aimed at getting first and we got it. We are now looking forward to the next matches to reach the semifinal”.

G.E. Sridharan, Coach of India: “Russian played very well. We are very happy as we managed to have the access to the second round with the best eight teams. We will do our best in the next matches. We now aim at qualifying for the semi-finals. Up to today Russia has been almost perfect therefore we are not very sad although we lost”.

Sergej Shlyapnikov, Coach of Russia: “Our main aim was getting to the next round in a good position and today we were able to get it. We are really satisfied because all the teams were very good. I personally believe we still have some things to sort out. I have not seen many of the teams we will be playing against now but there are not any weak teams. We will try to concentrate on every match. Even if we played with high-level blocking, I think it was more a kind of individual game in blocking rather than a team one therefore we might adjust it”.
