1983 - Creation of the Volleyball National Center in Montpellier
1985 - French team begins 18-month preparation for the World Championship, which takes place in France in 1986. In September, France finishes third at the European Championship in Holland. In November, France finishes second at the Seoul Top Ten
1991 - France finishes seventh at the second World Championship in Portugal 1995 - France finishes ninth at the World Championship in Porto Rico and fourth at the First European Championship in Spain
1997 - France finishes seventh at the World Championship in Iran and fifth at the European Championship
1999 - France finishes ninth at the World Championship and seventh at the European Championship
2001 - France finishes seventh at the World Championship and third at the European Championship
2003 - France does not manage to qualify for the 2003 European Championship or the 2003 World Championship
2005 - France wins silver after losing to Poland in the final of the European Championship and finishes sixth at the World Championship
2007 - France wins every single game at the Qualification Tournament to book its ticket to the 2007 European Championship in Austria. France defeats Poland in the final to win the first international title in the history of French volleyball.
