Reggio Calabria is the extreme south-western region of Italy, washed by the Tyrrhenian Sea and the lonian. It is an essentially mountainous region, bordered by a wild and beautiful coastline. The region of Reggio Calabria also offers a rich heritage of remains from the Roman Age, such as baths, theaters and bridges.
The region was previously part of the Empire of Byzantium, which influence is still visible in the religious buildings present in the area.
