Argentine players celebrate the victory over Algeria |
ALGERIA
Head Coach Samir Zitouni: I think we were able to put Argentina under pressure in the second and third sets, so overall I am satisfied with how we played against the world No. 6 team. This game was good to gain experience.
Captain Ali Kerboua: It was a very difficult game. In the first half of the match we played badly, but we improved as the match went on. But we could not catch up with Argentina. It was a good game so we want to make use of this experience for our next games. Argentina's blocks and defence was good.
ARGENTINA
Head Coach Jon Uriarte: Despite the loss of the last game (against Australia), I think our players started with the feeling of how important it is to play game by game. Our players know and understand the meaning of being selected as a national team member, and the importance of taking chance by chance.
Rodrigo Quiroga: We had expected today's match to be difficult because Algeria is a great rival for us. We had lost our last game to Australia, so I thought it would be difficult to switch our feelings, but we were able to show our level in this game. Now I want to continue this feeling for tomorrow's game against Iran. |
