Venezuelan captain Andy Rojas: Poland played really good. We also played better than yesterday and we won the first set. The World League is a kind of preparation to the next tournament for us. We hate losing, but we know every single match will help us improve our game and will bring profits in the future.
Venezuelan head coach Jose A. Gutierrez: First off all I’d like to congratulate Daniel. He showed he’s capable of doing great things with such a young team. I would also like to say thank you to all the organizers and the fans here in Poland. We were received in a fantastic way. Speaking about the match, we played with more aggression and with more determination than yesterday, but it wasn’t enough to beat Poland. They were very strong, especially in the serving area and in the attack. In my opinion both teams produced a great spectacle and I hope the fans are satisfied.
Polish captain Michal Bakiewicz: We executed our plan in a good style. We won both matches and gained six points. We are very happy with that and now we are looking forward to games against Finland. Without our great public it won’t be easy to win in Tampere, but we’ll do our best.
Polish head coach Daniel Castellani: I’d like to thank Jose for the respect he showed us. It is always a great pleasure to play against such a rival. Today we were a bit nervous at the beginning, but hopefully we found our rhythm and won the game. There are still four matches left in the competition and the situation in our group is still open. We’ll do our best to beat Finland four times, but sometimes the style and the execution of tactics is more important than the result.
