Weber: Three important points, but we must keep improving

Both coaches and captains at the Press Conference after the match

Joao José, Portuguese captain: “We were not calm in the fourth set when we had four balls to win but we did not make good use of them.”

(About Crer and Solé) “They are two great middle players with great potential and for sure they will play much better in the near future.”

Rodrigo Quiroga, Argentine captain: “For the second match, Portugal will come out playing as they are used to. It will be hard on us and we will step onto the field as always trying to win.”

“All victories have the same value, the fact that we defeated Serbia cannot change us, even though Serbia wins we must try to overcome them.”

Juan Díaz, Portuguese coach: “I believe that in the first two sets Argentina was the leader.”

“Then we had three or four balls we could have won but we missed at the right moment.”

“We cannot deny that Argentina is a better team than we are … We want to finish second in Pool C.”

Javier Weber, Argentine coach: “We did two great sets. We spiked with over 60 per cent efficiency and that is very good, but then we started having ups and downs. But that was because Portugal improved their serving.”

"These are three very important points – nothing is said yet – but we must think on improving match after match.”

Mixed Zone:

Facundo Conte: "Really, it is very important to win a match without playing really well, mainly because our goal is to qualify for the Final Round. We added three points, but we must improve a lot if we want to win again in the second match."
