Bakiewicz: Win was a "first step" toward sweep of Venezuela

Press conference

Venezuelan captain Andy Rojas: "We can't be satisfied with the result. The Poles were better today and they got the win they deserved. They were really dangerous, especially on the attack and in serving. I hope tomorrow we'll play better and leave Poland with one win."

Venezuelan head coach Jose A. Gutierrez: "Congratulations to the Poles who played a good match. The first set was especially great. We didn't play the way we wanted. The second set was very close, but we made some simple mistakes in the final stage of the frame. We are all very impressed by the whole spectacle that accompanies World League matches here in Poland and even though we lost, it was a nice experience to play in front of such a great public."

Polish captain Michal Bakiewicz: "We are verry happy. In my opinion we played really well. As I had said before the mtatch, our goal was to get two wins and today we made a first step. I'd like to give special thanks to our libero Pawel Zatorski. He is still very young, but today confirmed he can be a great player."

Polish head coach Daniel Castellani: "I'm happy with the win, but more with the way we played. We work a lot on tactics and elements that are new for our young boys. Today they showed they learn really fast. It's very important, especially for such a young group, to see the results of the effort they make during training."
