Argentina Head Coach Javier Weber: "Today, we had
very tough game as Korea did their job very well and accurately. Especially we
could not stop Kim Yo-Han, who came on as a substitute in the third set. I
think Korea deserved to win and we made many service errors in the fourth and
fifth sets. Korea is strong on defense and offense as well. Tomorrow, I predict
a very tough game like today.
Argentina Captain Rodrigo Daniel Quiroga: "Korea
deserved to win and did better than us on defense and attack."
Korea Head Coach Kim Ho-Chul: "Overall it was a good
match. The substitutions were successful, and every player did his job
effectively. The players were nervous at the beginning, but the players managed
to focus as the match went on, and they were able to play at their usual level,
eventually both individually and as a team. We will keep on practicing hard and
will show the fans that we are improving. Our ultimate goal is to qualify for
the 2012 Olympics. We need systematic support and a stable environment to reach
that goal. We will do it step by step."
Korea Captain Kwon, Young-Min: "We always play close
matches with Argentina. We studied their play patterns, so we were not afraid
to play against them on the court.
Today, they played very speedy volleyball. Their sets were very quick
and their set plays were very fast as well. Their attacks from the opposite
were potent. We will study the
attack patterns from the opposite and try to effectively stop them. We will be
ready to play against them again tomorrow."
Moon Sung-Min: It was my first time playing with my
teammates since I left Korea to play abroad last November. I was happy to play
again with them. I switched to a left-wing spiker from a right-wing spiker, but
it was not so difficult. Our goal is to reach the Final Round.
Kim Yo-Han: "Our new teammate Lim Si-Hyoung helped
us a lot with his digs and service reception. That was definitely a plus. And
because of that I was able to focus on attacks. I also gained a lot of
confidence over the winter and I decided that I would play to enjoy the game,
and that also helped me mentally to perform better."
