The difference at the net was enormous, says Cardona

Poland's Michal Kubiak was one of the key players in the victory over Puerto Rico

San Juan, Puerto Rico, June 11, 2011 - Puerto Rico v Poland press conference

Hector “Picky” Soto, captain of Puerto Rico: “We didn’t play the way we wanted. That’s all.”

Michal Bakiewicz, captain of Poland: “We are very happy about the six points we have won here and now we have to think about our next two matches against USA.”

Carlos Cardona, coach of Puerto Rico: “It was a well-deserved victory with an enormous difference at the net. Their blocking came after solid serves. We were improving our game until this series when things did not work out for us. Now we have to sit down and analyze our errors.”

Andrea Anastasi, coach of Poland: “I am very happy because we continue to play well. We are not perfect and had a bad start in the third set, but our guys battled back and recovered to win it. We prepared our team very well to play against a team we have a lot of respect for. I can remember the tough battle we had in last year’s World Championship when I was coaching Italy. I had that game in the back of my mind.”
