Knipe: Once we settled in, we did good things

China coach Zhou Jianen, left, and U.S. coach Alan Knipe speak at the press conference.

China Captain Qiong Shen:  First, I want to congratulate the U.S. team for its success. Team USA gave us great pressure on serving. Our team did not play well.

The crowd was very good. It felt just like a home match.

U.S. Captain David Lee:  I want to thank the city of San Jose for helping draw an amazing crowd. Obviously we’re happy to have the win and to continue to win. We really want to be back in the final six in Serbia.

China Coach Zhou Jianan: There is a big difference between the two teams. On the serve for the USA, our players made mistakes. Tomorrow we will try to feel better on serve receive.

U.S. Coach Alan Knipe: I thought it was a good match from our standpoint on serving and passing. For our first opportunity to play at home, a lot of the guys were anxious to play. I thought once we settled in, we did good things.
