Clash of the titans ... for second place

More than 6,000 fans in Varna promise a living hell for Russia
Bulgaria and Russia will clash in the battle of the titans fighting for ... second place.
The teams have only a slim chance to be in the finals of the World League but they will fight with ambition and use every last chance possible.
The teams renewed their rivalry in China at the Beijing Olympics, paving the way to what promises to be an explosive volleyball performance in Varna. Both hosts and guests know that second place may be a ticket to Serbia.
Bulgaria is looking strong and against Cuba proved that its players have not forgotten how to play at the highest level. Captain Plamen Konstantinov is back and will help make his teammates more confident in reception.
With Silvano Prandi calm and his boys back on track, it might be a hard time for Russia. With more than 6,000 supporters expected in the Palace of Culture and Sports, Russia will have to pass through a living hell to get the victory. The FIVB has also recognized the Bulgaria-Russia clash, making it a Match of the Week in the World league program.
