China aims to have a back-to-back win weekend

Powerful spike by China team

Jiangning, China, July 9th, 2009 –A week after the fantastic start of home adventure against the Olympic Champion USA team, the Chinese team will face the Netherlands this weekend in Jiangning, Nanjing, China.

In the previous weekend, the Chinese team displayed their fine fettle and no-fear spirit in front of the powerful USA team. Especially, some young players like Cui Jianjun and Chen Ping popped up and shined their talents. However as a young team, they are still not consistent enough. “This is the gap between strong teams such as USA and us. We will try our best to play each match in the World League and will learn from both victories and losses." Said Shen Qiong, the Chinese captain.

Looking back to week 2, although defeated by Netherlands in two 0-3s, the Chinese team only lost in some key points. Considering the home-and-away-match factors, the Chinese team have quite chances to kick off the Netherlands this weekend, if they can stick to their performances and emotions as against the USA. The Netherlands is also hoping to find another gear after dropping their 2 away matches to the Italy last weekend.

The first match between CHN and NED will be started at 16:00 (Local time) on Saturday, July 11th, 2009.
