Novi Sad ready to host Serbia vs. Argentina on Sunday

Fans of Sasa Starovic will have to wait until Sunday to see their idol in Novi Sad

Serbia will try to stop the rising young team of Argentina in their first and only match this year in Novi Sad this Sunday, where their loyal public expects nothing but victory at the Sports Hall Vojvodina.

Serbia coach Igor Kolakovic announced certain modifications in his team to the match played in Belgrade. Spectators in Novi Sad may get the chance to see their beloved Ivan Miljkovic, Andrija Geric or even Nikola Grbic, while veryone expects local hero Goran Maric to play the whole match.

Goran Maric: "In Novi Sad I expect only victory. In the match in Belgrade we missed so many opportunities that could have led to certain victory. I am sure that with fewer mistakes and with bigger respect towards our opponent, we will be able to reach our goal and win the match."

In the first match in Belgrade, experienced Argentine middle blocker Alejandro Spajic won 14 points for his team. In Novi Sad he expects Argentina to play as well as they did in Belgrade and added that he was looking forward to another five-set match.

Alejandro Spajic: "For us, the next match against Serbia is the real chance to make a great step towards the Final Six. If we win at least one point, we will fulfill our task, but primarily we have to play well in defense and retain the way we serve."
