Finland and Argentina will play in an Arena full of volleyball juniors

Finland will be eager to pick up another two wins over Argentina this weekend after registering a great victory over Serbia last Friday
Lahti, Finland, June 7, 2011 – Finland and Argentina will both have enthusiastic supporters when they meet in the 2011 FIVB Volleyball World League this weekend.

Isku Areena will be packed with young volleyball players from 7 to 21 years.

Over the weekend in Lahti a total of 7,500 children will play in the Power Cup tournament for four days and will also see Finland take on Argentina, the current leader of Pool C in this year’s tournament.

Finland has started this year’s edition of the premier annual men’s tournament with two losses against Portugal and one loss and one win over Serbia. Argentina lost once to Serbia, but won the second match and both matches in Portugal to gain control of the group.

“It was not a surprise that Argentina won Portugal two times,” Finland coach Daniel Castellani said. “The team has been together a long time and they played very balanced volleyball in Portugal.”

For Argentinean Castellani these matches are special for him. However he aims to find the ways to beat his compatriots once or twice.

He will get help from experienced universal player Olli Kunnari, who returns to the team. Also center Matti Oivanen looks to be available following an injury to his ankle.

“We need more points from the matches on the weekend and at least one victory,” Castellani concluded.
