A typhoon in the vicinity of Fontanarossa Airport delayed
the arrival of the Italian and U.S. Men's National Teams in Catania, Italy for
the second match of their 2009 FIVB World League series slated for Sunday.
Italian coach Andrea Anastasi cancelled a training
session scheduled for late Saturday afternoon, giving the team a break following
two consecutive losses at the tournament (to China on June 13 And to the USA on
Friday).
The Italian manager said he a little concerned with his
players, who he felt did not display the right attitude during the crucial
moments of the opening game against the U.S. in Florence.
The team must respond in Catania or risk slipping to a
1-3 record.
The U.S. players were particularly happy with their
second success in a row following a confident performance in receiving.
The PalaCatania announced that Sunday's match is sold
out, which should give the Azzurri a much-needed boost in the crucial first
round match.
