Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
June 4, 2011 – After a tough loss on Saturday, Poland will face nine-time FIVB
World League champions Brazil again on Sunday with their main goal being
to play better in the key moments.
In Saturday’s match, the
Polish team had the lead up to the middle of the first and second sets, but the
experienced Brazilians changed gear and emerged the stronger team.
“Tomorrow we will have
to play in the same way that we did today and try to do better in the key
moments,” Polish captain Michal Bakiewicz said.
The Brazilians are
expecting an even tougher game on Sunday, according to wing spiker Giba.
“They will come out with
less pressure and with a strong determination to win,” he commented. “We need
to be more focused at the beginning of the match.”
Giba also praised Brazil
libero Serginho: “It is easy to play by his side. He is the Pele of his
position. Also, he brings an energy that is fantastic for the squad.”
The two teams will meet
again on Sunday at 15:00 GMT in Rio de Janeiro.
