Outside hitter William “Reid” Priddy was born on October 1, 1977 in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up in Florida and Arizona and now lives in Southern California.
Priddy (196cm, 89kg) joined the US National Team for the 1999 Pan American Games. He was the starting outside hitter on the team that finished fourth at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. He was also the starting outside hitter on the teams that won the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2008 FIVB World League. He was named the USA Volleyball Male Indoor Player of the Year in 2008.
He finished the 2010 season as the team's third leading scorer with 161 points on 136 kills (0.33 hitting percentage), eight blocks (0.19 blocks per set) and seven aces (0.16 aces per set) in 42 sets played.
Priddy married Lindsay Pierce in March 2007 and the two had their first child, a son named Caden, in 2010. Priddy has played internationally in Greece and Russia. Most recently, he played for Zenit Kazan during the winter of 2010-11.
