Bojan Janic, captain of Serbia, was born on March 11, 1982, in Leskovac.
He began his career in VC “Crvena Zvezda” in Belgrade, during the 1998/1999 season, making his mark with the National Cup title. Two years later he moved to Novi Sad and VC “Vojvodina”, where he stayed for one season.
After that he began his international career. He went to play in Italy for VC “Ferrara” and VC “Vibo Valentia” before moving to Almeria in Spain. He came back from the Pyrenees and became a member of VC “Santa Croce” and later of VC “Verona”. He finished his adventure in Italy and went to Gdansk, Poland, and the last two seasons he has settled in VC “Yaroslavich” in Russia.
He made his debut for the national team in 2002, playing for the “Blue Boys” in the World League.
Janic is fourth among in the number of World League matches played by Serbian players with 124 appearances over nine seasons. Only Andrija Geri?, Goran Vujevic and Nikola Grbic, from whom he took over the role of captain, are ahead of him.
Serbia won the bronze medal in last year’s edition of the World League, playing without their star players Nikola Grbic and Ivan Miljkovic.
