  Together with Alexey Obmochaev and Nikolay Leonenko, Alexey Spiridonov is one of three newcomers to Russia this season. He is a regular starter with his club “Iskra” (Odintsovo) alongside such stars as Pavel Abramov and Guillaume Samica and has become one of the main sensations of the Russian Superleague scoring an average four points per set. He is also a 2009 Russian Superleague silver medalist and the 2009 CEV Champions League bronze medalist.
