After spending his early years in different teams in the Belgorod club system, Dmitry Krasikov moved to “Gazprom-Ugra” (Surgut), where he played for the 2009/10 season and then to “Fakel” (Novy Urengoy).
On the international stage Krasikov has won the 2009 Universiade in Belgrad, the 2005 FIVB Youth World Championship and the 2006 CEV Junior Championship.
Krasikov debuted for the senior team June 14, 2008 in the country's World League game against Korea. However he didn't play again until 2010 before Daniele Bagnoli called him out of the international wildernese for the 2010 FIVB World League where he won silver.
