  Ivo Casas was born in Matosinhos in 1992 and ten years later he started to play volleyball for Leixoes SC, club where he has played ever since.

This 179-cm libero played his first match for the junior national team in 2008 and was called to the senior national team for the first time in 2009, in a European League weekend when the titular libero was injured and he replaced him. He’s a young player with a promising future. Very complete in all the specific fundamentals, from reception to defense. His simple spirit is a strong asset to the team. Methodic, committed, studious and a hard worker, always trying to be better. For the national team his best results were in 2009 when he achieved first place in the Lusophone Games and the third place in the European League.
