  Alexandre Ferreira was born in 1991 and started to play volleyball when he was 14 years old at the EB Evaristo Nogueira. He then went to Sena Clube where he played for two years. In 2008 he was integrated into the project of the Portuguese NF at the Resende Permanent Training Centre, playing for CDRJ Anreade, where he won the III Division National Championship, and is currently playing at Esmoriz GC, in the A1 division, where he’s starting a new path, with the will to learn and to improve.

Alex, a 200-cm universal, is one of Portugal's new hopes, with the potential to be developed, from the physical level, to technique and tactics. He was first called to the junior national team in 2008, qualifying in 2010 for the third round of the European Championships. He joined the senior team in 2009 at the European League and is one of the younger players of the group.
