  Markus Steuerwald is just 22-years-old, but has already won every title possible at club level. 2007 will not be forgotten by him: VfB Friedrichshafen won the German Championship, the German Cup as well as the Champions League with Steuerwald as libero. Additionally, Steuerwald was awarded ‘best libero’ in the Champions League. Patrick Steuerwald’s younger brother was also able to gain some experiences within the national team. At qualification for the 2008  Beijing Olympic Games he helped take Germany to their first participation in 36 years. In 2010 Lozano ignored him because Steuerwald didn't play in his club but in 2011 Steuerwald, who is now playing for Paris/FRA, is in the squad again.
