João Paulo’s first title was in 1996, when he was first placed in Brazilian Junior National States Championship of the First Division. Three years later, João Paulo won the Copa Brasil for Barão Ceval (SC). Then, he played in Belgium, Puerto Rico and Italy, and now plies his trade in Turkey. His first title for the national team was the 2010 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship.
