Middle blocker Lucas played in Brazilian Superliga for the first time for Ulbra (RS), earning a fifth place finish in 2004/05. The following year they finished eighth, and then third in 06/07. With the national team he finished second place at the 2005 FIVB Volleyball Men's Junior World Championship and won the World League three times (2006, 2007 and 2010), as well as silver in the America’s Cup. In the last two seasons, he was the winner of Brazilian Superliga playing for Cimed (SC). For the national team, Lucas won the World Grand Champions Cup and the South American Championship in 2009. In 2010, the middle-blocker won his first World Championship for Brazil.
