The Brazilian libero has been champion of the World League eight times (2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010). He first played for the Brazilian senior team in 2001, when he won the South American Championship. In 2003, 2005 and 2007, he won the same competitions. He helped them to first place in the World Cup (2003) and won a gold medal in the Olympic Games in Athens. He won the World Championship in 2002 and 2006. In 2007, after the World League, he won the World Cup, the Pan-American Games and the South American Championship. In 2008, he got his second Olympic medal, the silver, in Beijing, and also came second in the America’s Cup and moved back to Brasil Vôlei Clube. In 2009, he helped Brazil defend their World Grand Champions Cup and the South American Championship. A back injury sidelined the libero for the World Championship 2010.
