Setter Donald Suxho was born on February 21, 1976 in Albania, where he also grew up. He was the starting setter for the Albanian team (1995-96) and junior national team (1991-96). He also played for the Skenderbeu club team from 1991 to 1996 which was coached by his father, Petraq, who was an assistant for the Albanian national team and the coach of the country's junior national team, and the Studenti club team that won the 1996 Albanian national championship. Suxho prepped at Koci Bako High in Korce, Albania.

Suxho joined the US National Team in 2003 and served as the backup to Lloy Ball at the NORCECA Championship and World Cup. He helped Ball set the US to a fourth-place finish at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In spring of 2007, Suxho ruptured his Achilles tendon while playing for Acqua Paradiso in Italy and did not set for the team in 2007 or 2008. However, he returned in 2009 to share starting duties with Kevin Hansen. He set for the team during the 2009 World League, where they won their pool and finished sixth overall.

In 2010, Suxho suffered an injury during the World League Intercontinental Round and did not play for the side again.

Suxho (196cm, 98kg) came to the United States to attend the University of Southern California in 1997 and graduated in 2000. He is single and has a son named Shane.
