  Tiago Violas was born in Ovar in 1989, and started to play in 1998, at nine-years old for Esmoriz GC, a club that he still represents today.

At 193-cm Violas is an experienced setter despite his youth. He began to play for the junior national team in 2007 and only two years later he played his first match for the senior team in the Qualification Tournament for the 2010 World Championships. Despite his youth, he knew how to assume the role of titular setter in the team and handle the pressure which came hand in hand with the position. He still is in an evolution phase and has a lot of progress to make.

Very committed, humble, and with a determination to learn and continuously improve. Violas, is a tactical setter, with a fast and high pass, and good physical structure. His best result with the senior national team was the European League Championship title win last year.
