   Profile
  Rui Santos was born in 1984 in Marinha Grande and started to play at the age of 15, integrating with the national team for the first time in 2001 with the youth side.

He played for his home town during his first few years, and in 2001 headed north playing for Esmoriz GC and Castelo da Maia GC. In 2007 he moved to the Terceira Island playing for AJF Bastardo, who he remains with today.

Ruca is an experienced and very competitive 203-cm middle-blocker. His capacity to read and adapt in the block are one of his strengths. His serve has proven to be effective and he is consistent in attack. He integrated into the team that achieved fifth place in the 2005 World League and the gold medal in last year's European League Championship.
