Profile
Joao Malveiro was born in Santiago do Cacem in 1979 and began playing volleyball at the age of 15 for his local volleyball club.
In 1999 he transferred to AA Coimbra where he played for five years. After a one year experience in Terceira Island playing for AJF Bastardo, he returned to the mainland where he played for Vitoria SC, GC Vilacondense and his current club Castelo da Maia GC.
A 198-cm experienced middle-blocker, Malveiro has been reaffirming himself through his great strength of will and dedication. His main strengths are distributed evenly between block and attack. He has a great sense of humour, always ready to share that joy with his team. Very responsible and committed his best result with the national team has been fifth in the 2005 World League, 10th in the 2005 European Championships and the European League Champion title conquered last year.
