Profile
Christian Dünnes has only competed in 18 international matches for Germany. The reason is his knee trouble and as a result the 2.07m tall player had already contemplated quitting volleyball. Fortunately, after a long recovery he is playing again and has won the European Top Teams Cup 2006 and the Italian Championship 2009 with his club Piacenza. Since 2009 Dünnes is playing as opposite spiker for evivo Düren and has been outstanding. Unfortunately, at the German Cup Final 2010 his 35 points were not sufficient to win the game. His versatility makes him very important for German coach Raúl Lozano: Dünnes is able to play as wing spiker, opposite spiker and also as middle block.
