Thiago was one of the best players in the young Brazilian teams since 2002 when he was Youth South American champion. In 2003 he was champion in the FIVB Volleyball Boys' Youth World Championship. The following year he won the Junior South America Championship and, in 2005, was second in the FIVB Volleyball Men's Junior World Championship. In the 2004 Liga Nacional, he won the title played with On Line (RS). Last season, he played for Unisul/Nexxera (SC). In 2007, he participated in the team that won the World League and he was second place at the America’s Cup, repeating the same feat the following year. In the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons he won the Brazilian Superliga with Cimed (SC). In 2009, he won the World League, the World Grand Champions Cup and the South American Championship. He started the 2010 season winning the World League title.
