   Profile

Matt Anderson (West Seneca, N.Y.) made news in the volleyball world in 2008 when he led Penn State University to the national championship as a junior and was named Co-AVCA Player of the Year. He made more news that season when he announced he would be skipping his senior season at Penn State to play in Korea for the Hyundai Capital Skywalkers.

Anderson, a 6-foot-10 (204cm) outside hitter, played for U.S. youth and junior national teams before joining the U.S. Men’s National Team in 2008, where he played in the Pan American Cup (gold medal) and the America’s Cup (fifth place).

Anderson was born in 1987 in Buffalo, N.Y., to Nancy and Michael Anderson and has three sisters.
