Outside hitter Paul Lotman (Lakewood, Calif.) began playing for the U.S. Men in 2007 when he was part of the bronze-medal winning World University Games team. He helped the U.S. Men win the gold medal at the Pan American Cup in Winnipeg, Canada in 2008.
Lotman finished a four-year career at Long Beach State University in 2008, when he was named AVCA co-Player of the Year along with fellow U.S. teammate Matt Anderson. He was also named an AVCA All-American and the MPSF Player of the Year. Lotman finished his collegiate career second on the 49ers career service ace chart with 135 aces.
Lotman was born in 1985 in Lakewood, Calif. His parents are Albert and Kathleen Lotman. He has two older brothers, Mark and Steven, and an older sister, Shelley. Lotman likes to watch college basketball, volleyball, tennis and college football. His happiest moment in life was playing in his first collegiate volleyball game and his fondest sports memory is playing volleyball.
