In 1996, Raphael won Brazilian Youth National States Championship and, in the following two years, became National Junior Champion. In 1999. he defended Brazil in the Junior World Championship and got the third place. In 2004, he played his last season in Superliga, getting the second place for Ulbra (RS). Then, Raphael moved to Russia, to play for Dinamo. In 2005, Raphael defended Brazilian adult team and got the gold medal in the South American Championship. In the following year, Raphael moved to Italy, where he now defends Callipo Sport.
