Cuba's captain Robertlandy Simon says: “We played better than Germany”

Press conference in Trier after the Germany v Cuba match

Germany's captain, Björn Andrae: "We started out really well and were on the same level, especially our receptions were stronger than in the first match. While the Cubans solve difficult situations with their immense athletics, we are lacking a consistency to play on such a high level."

Cuba's captain Robertlandy Simon: "The match was really interesting and we had planned to improve our reception, which worked really well. Additionally our services and defence was better than the German one and due to these reasons we won the match."

Cuba's coach Orlando Samuels Blackwood: "Today’s match was another good one, all players fought hard. We are happy to have won, because these points are very important for the Final Round of the World League."

Germany's coach Raúl Lozano: "In some aspects we were not as good as we were yesterday, especially in our attacks. It was our goal to play a better defence but we were only able to manage that by the end of the game. The attacks have to be more consistent in order to beat Cuba."
