French captain Kieffer is proud of his teammates

France's captain Oliver Kieffer talks to the press after France's victory over Italy on Friday

Italy's head coach Andrea Anastasi: "It was a tough game played until the last points and congratulations to the French team."

France's head coach Philippe Blain: "With Takaniko and Gerald Hardy-Dessources, I had more solutions. We succeeded to develop our game tonight. I’m satisfied with the level of Nicolas Marechal. This match is very important to get more confidence. We wanted to do a gala match tonight in Paris-Bercy and with the win, I could not hope for better."

France's captain Oliver Kieffer: "As our coach said before the match in the dressing room, it’s important to show fight and spirit on the court. We felt stressed in the beginning. Tonight I would like to thank the fans, because they helped us to win. I really appreciate the team spirit in the tie-break, I’m very proud of my teammates."

Italy's captain Valerio Vermiglio: "It was a hard game for us and we were nervous tonight. We succeeded to come back in the match but we made too many mistakes in the fifth set. More than the first place in this group B, we want to improve our game to prepare the next World Championships in our country."
