Coaches: service made the difference

U.S captain Ryan Millar and coach Alan Knipe said they were disappointed with the performance

Russian coach Daniele Bagnoli: "I am happy with the result. But our game wasn’t very consistent as we gave a lot of opportunities for the USA team to tie the score in the second set. The service and reception were crucial in this game. But we have to work hard on transitions game, setting and reception of floating service.”

Russian captain Alexey Kazakov: “We played well except for the second set. We are still not perfect in the team game but it is not surprising as we had only 10 days for the preparation for this matches.”

USA coach Alan Knipe: “Russia made it hard for us with their service. And unfortunately we made some unforced errors in the second set when we had a chance to tie the score. The service and reception made the difference in the game. We failed to show our usual standard of playing”

USA Captain Ryan Millar: "It was really tough match and probably we made some tactical mistakes. I hope tomorrow will come with the different performance."
